Upcoming Changes In iPad?

I am thinking of upgrading from my three year old iPad, Are there any contemplated changes in the iPad? Should I wait?

Impossible to say for sure. Apple just came out with the new iPad Pro 9.7-inch which replaces the iPad Air 2. So there are now four models: The small iPad mini, the regular-sized iPad Air 2 which is still available, the iPad Pro 9.7-inch and the iPad Pro 12.9-inch. I don't see them coming out with anything new anytime soon as the iPad Prop 9.7 just came out. The may bump the speed of the larger iPad Pro later this year, but probably nothing major. The may also come out with a slightly faster iPad mini, but as this is their low-end iPad, I don't see them adding any new features to it as the point is to keep the price low.
You can always track the age of Apple products and the likelihood of a new model at MacRumors: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com.
The big change will be the release of iOS 10. Apple has been very consistent with iOS releases with introductions and beta testing starting in June and release in the fall. But that shouldn't stop you from buying an iPad at all, since you simply get the iOS update free. There is no advantage to waiting for an iOS update to buy.
So I would say that if you are looking to buy an iPad Pro 9.7-inch then this is an excellent time to buy as it is very new.
