What Is the Simplest File Synch Application On an External Hard Disc?

I need a simple File Sync program to back up my files. I plan to do time machine later. I have ordered a used Time Capsule. I just need File Sync for the moment, free or pay. Currently I have a external hard disk that I am offloading some files. I want the File Sync program to either do it automatically every night or when I command it do it. I feel better if have two ways to backup my data.

There are two apps that have both been around forever and competing. I have used them both in the past, but not for a while. One is Carbon Copy Cloner and the other is SuperDuper. Either one of those should do what you want and both have a ton of features.

I can recommend CCC as a suitable backup app. Takes a bit of configuring if you want to set up automatic backups, but their customer service is excellent. As well, they post a lot of documentation online to assist walking you through the processes. I can’t compare to super duper, but CCC has worked for me for the past several years. It supplements my time machine backups
