I installed Lion and after using it for a while I noticed that when I used Launchpad there was NO Front Row. Did Apple take it out of Lion and if so why and what do we use instead if Front Row.

There is no Front Row in Lion. It existed in previous versions of OS X, but was removed from Lion.
There are many third-party media players, like Boxee, Plex and such. Or you could just use iTunes and watch video full-screen. Depends on your needs. You can also consider a $99 Apple TV which does all of the Front Row functions and more.
