I am in the process of selecting a photo editor. I noticed that you use Acorn. Why this particular one?

Why Do You Use Acorn Instead Of Some Other Photo Software?

I use several. I have Photoshop and Fireworks from Adobe since I pay for the full Creative Cloud. But since I'm not an illustrator or photographer, Photoshop is overkill and can be a little hard to use. Fireworks is no longer being developed so I can't really recommend that one.
This leaves two major options that are also both much cheaper and available in the Mac App Store: Pixelmator and Acorn. I like them both, but Pixelmator seems geared toward artists more and Acorn for more general use. Since I'm not an artist, I end up using Acorn.
I think both Pixelmator and Acorn have trials at their sites, so you may want to try them both if you can't decide.
Affinity Photo is another well priced, well rated and highly functional photo editing app on the App Store.
Luminar works as a Photos extension as well.
I downloaded trials for Acorn, Pixelmator, and Affinity. Of the three Pixelmator seems to work better for me than the other two. Affinity is a little more than I need for what I do and Acorn lacks a little bit. That said, I think that the Acorn tutorials are the best. I will try Luminar as well and then decide. Thanks for the feedback.
