Tagging Your iCloud Email Addresses

Say you have an email address example@icloud.com. You can append a tag to that with a + symbol. For instance, you could use example+something@icloud.com. You can use this when signing up for email newsletters or web sites. Mail sent to this tagged address will come into your regular inbox, but the “to” field will show the full address including the + tag. You can use this to filter your messages in Mail.

Gary. I tried this yesterday but no email received. Do I need to set up an alias within iCloud too?

No. Nothing to set up. If someone tries to email you at youricloudemail+something@icloud.com, you should get it. Check in your junk mail folder, maybe.
