Club MacMost Exclusive: Using MacWhisper For Dictation

The MacWhisper app, which is great for transcription, can also do dictation. It not only converts your speech into text, but also will run the results through an AI prompt to create some interesting stacked functionality.

I first tried to download from the app store. Then I found out I could not use dictation with that version. I was surprised you did not tell us that. So I went to the web site and found out you can't download a free edition, or at least I couldn't. The next cheapest offer is 59.00 but it never states whether that is Monthly, Yearly or one time. I am trying to get a refund but ni luck. For some reason the apple site can't find the transaction so no refund.

Tom: Sorry, I didn't know that. I have the version direct from their site. I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't be available through the Mac App Store, but perhaps there is some system protocol they are using that isn't allowed for apps there.

To get a refund from Apple, go to the App Store, click on your icon at the bottom left, then Account Settings. Then go to Purchase History and "See All."

As for the MacWhisper site, I only see a regular license. It isn't monthly or yearly or anything like that. Just a license to use it. There is a $0 option which is the equivalent for a free edition.
