In this episode, I mention the tragedy of James Kim of Cnet, but I prefer not to completely cover it because I was not personally close to him like many podcasters. And out of respect for him I would prefer to link you towards a more direct source if you don’t know the story. http://news.com.com/2009-12-6141617.html?tag=cnetfd.ld1 In other news, we also experienced the loss of Lynne’s Sci Fi news. But the good news is that Lynne left us to pursue a new job (good luck Lynne) and you can still find Lynne at the Lipsitck aliens podcast. http://lipstickaliens.libsyn.com I cover two other news stories, including the phenomena that by some is called Geek Porn. It refers to the popularity of internet videos of people unboxing tech toys. You can find a repository of unboxing videos at unboxing.com. Also check out youTube if you’d like to repeatedly fantasize about that precise exiting moment in which you extract your virgin Wii from the sealed and pristine packaging. The other story was about Bournemouth, England, which has been declared by a recent survey to be the nerdiest town in the UK. It also describes the geographical distribution nerdy (and philatelic) trends across Britain. Links to those stories, respectively: http://www.thedailyreel.com/news-opinion/news/geek-porn-watching-inside-the-box?gnewsid=1165504799.76 http://www.thisisdorset.net/display.var.1061351.0.barefaced_geek.php And most importantly, I continue to pimp the Screen Goddesses 2007 calendar, which remember is for a good cause. You can purchase a calendar for yourself or a loved one at ITgoddess.info or enter my little contest! I’m giving away a proof (which is as beautiful as the real deal, but has a few type-os.) All you need to do is e-mail me a digital image of what you’d be if you were a superhero. Use photoshop, paint, a box of crayons, take a picture of a clay sculpture or collage! Or even dress up for real and send me a picture. I welcome submissions of any artistic ability. Have it in by the end of the year, and if you’re my favorite I will mail you my proof calendar. Please don’t abuse copyrighted material, because I don’t want to get in trouble for using it in my podcast. Send submissions to geekgirl(at)clevermedia(dot)com — and also as always please feel free to send questions or comments to the same address, or if you were a superhero what your name and power would be!!!

In case once a week isn’t enough Geek Girl for you, I discuss the other podcasts at Clevermedia that I participate in, namely the Heroescast (heroescast.blogspot.com) and the Daily Vlog at (thedailyvlog.com) and the turducken debacle. View said debacle here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0bn82u7UAcg
I also tout the 2007 Screen Goddess Calender, which you can view and order from itgoddess.info
Finally, I request that you continue to send your comments and feedback to geekgirl(at)clevermedia(dot)com. Once again, I ask if you were a superhero, what would your name and superpower be. I also ask, if they made a biography film about your life, who would you choose to star as you, and why? Who do you think would make a good Geek Girl?

In this episode, Trevor accompanies on the Cowbell, and then later on the jingle bells to ring in the holiday buying season. I laugh at the Zune, and ignore the popularly covered PS3 release in lieu of some other cool tech gadgets. I find an excuse to wear a pirate hat, and refuse to take it off when it is no longer relavent. I thank viewers for sending feedback about an overheating PC, and decide to go with a liquid cooling system I am still researching. I welcome viewers to continue to offer their tips, thoughts and emotional support. Also, continue to send e-mails to geekgirl(at)clevermedia(dot)com, and leave comments at geekgirl.tv. Tell me if you were a superhero, what would your name and superpower be? Also, give me positive or negative feedback so that I can make you a better show. Mr. Cellophane, (a.k.a Karl) sends me a really cool theme song, and I make a new dance. If you’d like to sing me an original 20 second theme song, send it to geekgirl (at) clevermedia (dot) com. I really would appreciate it! I also beg viewers to give me advice on my PC overheating problem. Child’s Play begins the year’s toy drive at childsplaycharity.com. Game Politics dot com has a story about video game terminology. Finally, we meet a Flemmish fan and superhero.
In this episode Geek Girl goes to Majesticon and interviews Colorado’s revered Queen Geek, Dana Cain. She organizes conferences in the area, and you can check out upcoming events at danacain.com I challenge viewers to articulately discuss in the comments section of GeekGirl.TV when Star Trek jumped the shark, if ever. Please share your opinion. I also dress up my cat in an absurd pink tutu princess dress, in lieu of dressing up myself. I recommend the Ducky Horror Picture Show, a Galacticast (Galacticast.com) spoof of ze frank. I read Karl’s comment. And finally, as a special treat, I show one fanatical comic book seller’s answer to the super hero question. He was funny, so you’ll see more of his interview some other time. As always, send me an e-mail at geekgirl(at)clevermedia(dot)com, and tell me if you were a superhero, what would your name and super power be? Or just tell me what you like, and don’t like about the show, so I can make it better. ^_- until next week!
In this episode, Trevor –that crazy guinea pig– meddles with my theme song. We get down and jiggy to the clang of the cowbell. There’s still plenty of time to sing me a theme song, and send it to geekgirl (at) clevermedia (dot)com. Rick Rey is from rickrey.com. He makes a vlog with his brother, and they do some funny stuff, and tend to get kicked out of public places for trying to film. Ze Frank is from zefrank.com/theshow, and Rocketboom is at rocketboom.com They both are said to carry a podcast viewership somewhere in the neighborhood of 300,000 viewers a day. I totally recommend watching the daily witty antics of Ze, (and for those of you who already watch him– can you tell I’m a big fan? [o_o] If you’d like to check out the full text of the NASA article I reference go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/2/hi/science/nature/6076212.stm It’s a sad state of the American news media when I go to the BBC to learn about what my own nation is doing with my taxes in space. Remember, GeekGirl will be making appearances this weekend in both SL and RL. Tonight, Friday October 27th at 7:00 Second Life Time you’re invited to the grand opening of the Podcast Salad Bar and Grill. On Sunday you can see the Geek Girl and lovely assitant bob for Action figures at Magesticon in Northglenn Colorado. See you next week if you’re geek enough! Prove it by sending me a picture of your bag of dice, or a video how you roll 20. Mail to: geekgirl (at) clevermedia (dot) com. Dot cooooommmmmm…
I wish the Geek Girl had a theme song. Unfortunately, I cannot sing (which doesn’t mean that I won’t subject you to that at a later date) because I’ve allocated my life’s talent points into another skill tree. No shame in that. But I know some of you geeks are music geeks. So please, please mix something together for me. I don’t care if it’s silly, not so good, or any particular genre. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write me comments. I’d still like to get to know you all and what you’d like to see in a show, so please shoot me an e-mail at geekgirl(at)clevermedia(dot)com. See you next week!

This week, Geek Girl eve-park gives you a tour of your lavish production studio, and takes a road trip, in which she completes 3 quests from her RL quest book. To find out more about the latest new media acquisitions, you might start with Katie’s coverage on this week’s Podcast Salad (podcastsalad.com). Super-vlogger Chuck Olsen actually has far to many projects to mention, but you can find most of them via Minnesota Stories (mnstories.com), my favorite is the seldom updated MookiTV (mookitv.com). I’ve been slowly building a Warhammer 40k Necron army, and at home we are currently teaching ourselves how to play. The Blood Red Citadel spray paint is actually for an army of Space Marines. We’d looked in all our usual haunts for it, and store owners couldn’t even verify it’s existence! So finding it in a random store in Colorado Springs was a huge triumph. My favorite geek store is Battleground Games (battlegroundgames.com) in Abington Massachusetts. If you’re anywhere near, it is worth the drive to check it out. Please leave me feedback in the comments section of geekgirl.tv, and if you use iTunes, please leave me a review at the iTunes music store. ‘Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top, ‘be your best friend?
