I do a simple podcast and I would like to work on automating the workflow. Is there any good way to easily convert an .aiff file into .mp3 using either Launchbar or Hazel or something else? I’d like to be able to drop the file into a folder and have it pop out as an mp3.

I don't know if automating a conversion is the way to go here. Why is the file an .aiff file in the first place? What software are you using to create the podcast? When I create an audio podcast in GarageBand, I export directly to mp3.
In this case, I use my iPhone to record via iTalk. So I get this .aiff file that doesn't need any editing, and then I simply need to upload it to a wordpress blog.
Interesting. Well it would depend on what software you use to do the conversion. You might be able to make an Automator script to do it and assign an action to a folder. It will take some work and experimenting.
