Hi, Gary it’s me again and i need this questio solved as soon as possible. Ok i bought a second-hand macbook for this guy recently. Ok i was wondering, how do i change the password? the owner said he forgot it. The computer doesn’t come with the installation disk. Any suggestions? should i buy a Tiger installatin disc? also what if i upgraded my macbook from tiger to leopard, will the leopard disc work or do i need tiger still?
Thanks

You need to buy new OS disks -- Leopard for older Macs, or Snow Leopard for Intel. But you can only get Snow Leopard as a box set for a new install. If you want to do Leopard, then you don't need Tiger at all, just Leopard.
i heard you need a password when you install leopard or any mac os x. is that true?
No. That's not true. If you are wiping the drive and installing, then why would you need a password?
i have a question. i downloaded a leopard disk for my pc and was wondering if it will work on my mac?
A "leopard disk" -- what do you mean by that exactly?
Leopard installation disk.
You downloaded a Leopard install disk? That wouldn't be a legal copy. EVen if it was, you can't install Leopard on a PC -- it is for a Mac.
o ok thanks. so i can use it for my mac? also last question my dad asked if you need a password during th installation? sorry for so many questions.
I wouldn't. If it isn't a legitimate version, then you shouldn't either. You won't need a password unless you are doing an update.
ok thanks
