Could iPhoto be made to recognize Sigma cameras? I have a Sigma SD10, and the Sigma Photo Pro software for it regularly crashes in Snow Leopard (It worked properly in Leopard).
If iPhoto cannot be made to recognize the SD10, how can one ask Apple to add support for Sigmas?
My computer: MacBook Pro, Snow Leopard, 4GB, bought new in 2007.

I would contact Sigma about it. They would be the ones to build drivers for it if they don't work on a Mac. Actually, if they make software for the Mac, and that crashes, then you should definitely contact them.
Do the cameras use an SD card? If so, why not just use a cheap SD card reader instead of trying to connect the camera?
Each time the software crashes, it sends a report to Apple. Does Apple not forward these crash reports to Sigma?
In any case, I'm sending Apple's crash report to Sigma support directly.
I doubt they report anything like that to a third-party. I would do more than just sending Sigma your report. I would write up a description of what happens with as much detail as you can.
Two things I forgot to mention:
the software worked fine in Leopard but not in Snow Leopard
I haven't yet tried a Compact Flash card reader for the photos, but that won't make a difference. Transferring the photos doesn't trigger crashes. Trying to convert the photos after the camera is disconnected, or at times just selecting a photo in the software, causes crashes
In any case, I sent an email to Sigma. Hoping to hear back soon.
Thanks for your insights.
I'm having the same problem. Bought Sigma's DP2 just today and the software has been crashing regularly. Hope Sigma will fix this soon. :(
