I would like to know if it is possible to use a short voice recording to play instead of the listed sounds to pick from?
Receiving An iPhone 7 Plus tomorrow – same question.
I have memory problems, and text Reminders or a pretty sound often doesn’t help me. I searched before asking this.
Thank you. Grateful for this site.

Yes. You can use any tone, ringtone or locally-stored music file (iTunes) for a sound. Just edit the alarm and tap the Sound setting. Then you can select the sound.
If you want to make your own, the easiest way is to get the free GarageBand app from the App Store. You can record from the microphone there, or edit audio files or even make your own music. Then you can Share it as a Ringtone. Then it will be available as an alarm sound.
See my tutorial on this at https://macmost.com/create-custom-ringtones-on-your-iphone.html
Thank you!
I just deleted GB because it’s so huge. Will re-download.
