How Do I Get To/make More Space Available On My Startup Disk By Deleting Files?

I am using Handbrake and am getting a message that there is not enough space availabe on my startup disk and I must delete files. How do I delete and/or reduce the size of my startup disk. For the life of me I can not get to the disk information window so I can establish the parameters.

If you are running out of space on your hard drive, then it is just a matter of going through your files and seeing if there are things you don't need anymore. I have an old video on doing this. It really is just a matter of doing a spring cleaning.

Click on the Apple Menu and choose About this Mac>Storage. There are several ways to look at what is filling up your hard drive. Look at Recommendations. Look at Reduce Clutter: "Review files" opens the Documents category on the left and lists the biggest files. Control Click to remove documents no longe needed. Another way to see it is to click on File Browser and then on documents o see a list large to small.
