I thought that iPad3 would handle raw files,
My transfer of jpeg are OK but the Raw files, (NEF), are not transferring when using iTunes sync
Do I need another app to do it?

I don't believe that the iPad built-in apps handle RAW format photos at all. Well, I know that you can load RAW photos onto it for transfer to your Mac later on. You just can't view them.
But if you look in the App Store you'll find several apps that seem to be able to dea with RAW photos. Check those out to see if they will do what you need.
Thank you Gary,
Apparently, it can be done by using file transfer from iTunes, I have not found out how to do that yet,
More importantly, I have found an app called PhotoRaw that should handle import from a card reader or camera,
getting "appleized" has been a steep learning curve for me,
Just wish I'd made the change a long time ago
