Multiple screens and setting resolutions !

If second larger monitor is connected to a 13″ MacBook, how do I kno what the correct resolution settings to set for each of the displays?

    For LCD displays you can tell because that is always the largest dimensions. For instance, if 1280x1024 is the largest, then that is the native resolution for the display. You don't have to choose it, because the first time you connect it will set it to that resolution.
