Snow Leopard and scanner

I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem.

When using the fast user switching on my iMac, my scanner disappears. I’ve spoken with Apple, and I was told this is a software problem with Snow Leopard. Has anyone else had this problem, and has anyone figured out a way around this? It’s kind of a pain in the butt to log off and back on to get it to work.

    I suppose it matters which scanner you have and what drivers it uses. It is probably a problem with the drivers, not necessarily Snow Leopard. Have you checked the manufacturer's Web site to see if they have updated Snow Leopard drivers for it?
