Media Scrutinizes Chinese Factories Used By Apple

Attention peaked this week on working conditions at Chinese factories where Apple products are built. ABC’s Nightline took a look inside the Foxconn factory on Tuesday night’s episode. You can see the video here.
While talk about how Apple and other electronics companies manufacture their products has been going on for years, renewed interest started last month when the New York Times published an article looking in to the human costs of the process. Apple CEO Tim Cook will be commenting on this issue at today’s shareholder meeting.
In other news Apple is planning on building a new data center in Oregon. The new center, likely years away from completion, will use solar power like Apple’s North Carolina data center. It will also take advantage of the cool central Oregon climate to keep energy use down.

I clicked on here? to view the video, but it said you seem to outside of the USA to view this.Is there anywhere i can watch it. I commented on your site quite a while ago about this topic. Apple`s parts are all made in Vietnam,Malaysia and Thailand, and then they are sent to China to be assembled.Thats how Apple can make a billion dollars profit. I watched a documentary about this, and it was a disgrace. Four Chinese died through working with hazardous wastes. Workers complained to the human rights, but they were just replaced and nothing done. You or i would not work under these conditions or what they got payed. Its not just Apple. Microsoft do it along with a host of other companies.

I Googled for videos about these Chinese Factories, and to quite honest i am ashamed to be using an Apple Product. I even found the article about the four Chinese workers that died, and now they are committing suicide.A person evan wrote underneath i am boycotting Apple products.Fore 2yrs i have tried to get them to replace my faulty iMac,and i was that fed up i called in a Advocate because my nerves were getting bad. In short i am getting a brand new IMac. Like that man i too am going to boycott Apple, and get a product thats made in the West. I was really upset from what i saw. I could claim damages from Apple they said allegedly.
