iPhone 3.0 Previewed, Apple on Twitter

Dominating Apple news this week was the announcement of the third major revision of the iPhone operating system. Users will see it this summer, but developers can get their hands on it now.
There is a lot of buzz over new standard features, like copy and paste, MMS, landscape typing in Mail and a few improved standard apps. But the real news may be in what Apple will let developers do in the new OS. There will be push notification to allow apps to get messages even when not running, in-app purchases, and communication with external devices via bluetooth or the dock.
You can see a full report of what is new and what it might mean to you in episode 217 of the video podcast.
In other news, Apple has finally appeared on Twitter with an account that highlights new feed that tells you what new trailers have been posted in iTunes. @itunestrailers is thought by many to be Apple’s test of using Twitter, so we might see more eventually.

Wow, the number of followers on twitter is growing like crazy!
If Apple dose this on other Social Networks like Face Book, etc., they
    may get more product users.
Also, I can easily see other companies like Microsoft jumping on this band wagon if people continue to talk about it.

Ok this is probly the wrong place to ask this but i couldnt find a questions page.

ok i just have 2 questions.

    1. ive had my ipod for almost a year and a half now and one of the ear phones stoped working so i thought it was the headphones so i tried 3 different sets of head phones all the same problem. Then i was reading on a website that if you cut off most a que tip and puts some rubbing achol on it and clean the jack it should fix the problem. I tried it and now both sides of the headphones are out. do you have any recomendations on what to do?

    2. I have never seen you do a video on jailbreaking. it would be nice to hear your thoughts on that and what you think about that.

      1. Sounds like the headphone jack on your iPod is broken. Take it to the Apple store right away before the warranty runs out, if it hasn't already.
      2. I'm not a fan of jailbreaking. I'd rather experience the iPhone in the same way as 99% of the iPhone users out there. Plus, since the app store I don't see enough of a need to jailbreak.

        1. I am out of warrenty so do you know how much it would cost to replace the headphone jack or do they not replace stuff?

        2. One of the main reason i would jail break is WinterBoard witch alows you to edit you lock screaen and dock screen.

        Thank you very much

          1. I don''t know. You'd have to ask them. You may also want to try third-party repair shops.
          2. Edit the lock and dock screen? OK. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for something like that.
