Hi, this is Gary Rosenzweig with MacMost Now. Last week I saw a lot of cool new products at MacWorld Expo. One of the coolest was something called the Eye-Fi. It's a 2 gig, SD card that goes into your camera. Not only does it give you 2 gigs of storage, but it also gives you the ability to transfer photos wirelessly to your computer. Let's take a look at the interview I did with one of the founders of the company.
Hi, this is Gary Rosenzweig with MacMost Now and here with you all, the co-founder of Eye-Fi. And Eye-Fi is a really cool product: it's a SD card that has Wi-Fi built in. Tell me a little more about it.
Sure, the Eye-Fi card, I've got one right here, is a 2 gigabyte memory card with an 802.11b/g Wi-Fi interface built into it. So you can automatically upload photos to a Mac, a PC, or to one of as many as twenty different online photo destinations from inside your camera just by turning it on when you get, when you get home.
Actually, that also gives you both 2 gigs of storage, SD formality, the most popular format, and it also adds Wi-Fi to a camera that otherwise wouldn't have it.
That's right, and in just a moment here I think we'll, we'll do a demo with a standard Cannon camera to show just that.
Ok, let's have a picture of us taken. Let's see. So a standard camera here.
This is ah, this is the camera we're going to use. It's a, it's an "off the shelf" Cannon camera. Take a picture this way? Ok, we'll take a picture of our lovely assistant here.
Ok. Ok.
And there it is.
The picture is now on the camera as it would be on a normal memory card. And...
Ok. And it will stream over here to the Mac.
It's ah, it's arriving here...
And there, and there it is.
Yeah, so so what we're showing here at the show is ah, what we will be releasing later this month which is integration with Eye-Photo. Ah, so as we see there is no easier way to get photos out of your camera and onto the Mac than with the Eye-Fi card.
That, that was really quick. How much does the, the Eye-Fi card sell for?
In retail is $499.99 and it's available at major retailers today ah, including,, and
Great, Will, thank you very much.
Thank you.
You can find the Eye-Fi card at most online retailers for 499.99 dollars. You can find out a lot more about it at That's e-y-e. f-i. Till next time, this is Gary Rosenzweig with MacMost Now.

Eye-Fi is awesome. Our booth was right next to them, I even bought one and love it. It is very convenient to set it up so that your photos get uploaded automatically to your Flickr account. They won “Best of Show” and really deserved it.

I am just upset Gary didn’t stop by to say hi to us at the GadgetTrak booth, right next door ;-)
