How and Where To Dictate a Reminder?

I would like to know how to use Siri to dictate a note/reminder and save it on my iPhone. Like remember to pick up bread and milk or bag of potting soil. Just looking for a way to dictate a quick reminder. Do I need a special app in order to do so?
Thank you so much for any advice.

Just activate Siri, and say something like "Remind me to pick up milk." Try it.

This is one of the primary things that Siri does. You can even go into Settings, Reminders and then set a Default List. This is the list that would be used with a Siri command like that.

You can also have other lists, like say one called "Grocery List" and then ask Siri to "Add milk to my Shopping List." Try it.

Try other combinations that make sense to see what works best for you. Like try "Add a Reminder" and then Siri will ask you what to add.
