How Do I Access Ethernet On My iMac?

Having just been switched to NBN and using Telstra technicolor DJA0230TLS. wifi is okay. Network preference pane shows wifi but no ethernet listed. ethernet cable is connected from router to imac. If I switch over to windows bootcamp ethernet is working fine. Any suggestions ??

Did you try clicking the + button at the bottom of the list of network connections in the Network preferences pane? You can add Ethernet then, and it should appear on the left. Then you can click the little gear button next to the + and - buttons and select Set Service Order to give Ethernet a higher priority to Ethernet if that is your goal.

    Hi Gary
Thanks for the tip. Did as you suggested and once it loaded configurations all was well. Have been using macs for a long time and was so used to seeing “Ethernet “ in the listing. Not sure why it wasn’t there after my relocation to a new address.
Always learning something new. Love your Macposts.
    Kind regards..........Bryan
