I am having some tuning issues with a movie and I’m wondering what the best way to work on the audio is. Can I work on the audio through Garageband, or is there a better way to do it?

Absolutely, it is one of the many modes of GarageBand. Just make sure your video is done and then bring it into GarageBand to fine-tune the audio. When you export, the video is passed through from the original, and the new audio will be in place.

I have several video clips that I would like to edit into an iMovie09. I have parallel but separate audio clips that are far better than the FlipHD audio. I would like to use the better video. Should I bring each clip into GB09 and upgrade the audio (by combining the'better' audio with the Flip track) then save the clip back (as a ?? format in ?? location), or should I publish each clip as a movie, run it through the abovmentioned audio enhancement then return it to the iMovie clip library and make my movie from there?

You can do it either way. I'd run it through GarageBand first as it doesn't change the video, just the audio. So you keep the video quality.
yes, but my new soundtrack isn't there when i upload it to youtube or facebook. first time, help! all I did was add some audience sound effects and reverb. saved it, put it on desktop to uploaad it easily. but i cant get the new sound over in i movie.
Give it another try. It is impossible for me to guess where you may have gone wrong. Try exporting from iMovie to a file, and then testing that file before uploading that file to any site.
This issue is all over the forums with no good answer. Try exporting saved to MP4. You would think Apple would have made this transfer to YouTube seamless.

Aloha Gary. I am trying to eliminate wind noise in the videos I recorded from my camera/video camera. Is it possible to identify the specific frequency the wind is loudest at and defeat those specific frequencies in garage band?
I don't think it works that way. The wind hits many different frequencies. Best to get a good windscreen to fit over the mic.

so i took my video from imovie, brought it into garageband, added harmonies, and then exported it to my desktop as an mov. file. then i uploaded it to youtube, but the harmonies that i had added on in garageband didn't upload with the rest of the video. do you know why?
do you know how i can get the file that i made in garageband (from the original imovie file- with the added harmonies) back into imovie? (maybe i can then upload it straight to youtube from there and hopefully the harmonies will upload to youtube along with the whole video.

Might have been the way you exported. Did you test it before uploading to YouTube? If the music is there, then perhaps it was added to a second audio track and YouTube didn't use it. So maybe export in a different way, or run it through something else (MPEG Streamclip) that will combine all audio tracks.
