I was wondering how is it possible for the new OS X “Lion” not having the ability for Finder browsing with “swiping” gestures, a very helpful feature introduced in the older OS X “Snow Leopard”? Have you heard anything from Apple intending to bring it back?

Can you tell me specifically which action you are talking about? What type of swipe, exactly. What did it do, exactly?
I mean the back/forward searching in the Finder windows that we once were able to do by just a swipe movement on the magic mouse. So simple & functional but unfortunately gone...
I think I know what you mean. I guess that's just been replaced. I'm sure they did studies to see what would be used the most.
You can enable that feature in Lion with BetterTouchTool. I've set it up so that a tip-tap left takes me back to the previous page.
Thank you both for your interest. I'll try BetterTouchTool as soon as possible.
