In a surprise move, Apple has released the new major version of iOS for iPads and iPads. It is generally expected that new releases come closer to the availability of new iPhones, but new iPhones are delayed this year.
iOS 14 is now available as a free update for all iPhones that support it, as well as iPadOS 14 for iPads that support it. Among the new features are support for home screen widgets, the App Library, new interfaces for Siri, App Clips, a Translate app, and new privacy features.
