Is there any way to configure a Skype account into ichat. I did not know if it could be done through jabber or not because I saw some tips online about configuring Facebook Chat into ichat using jabber.

Why would you want to do this? Just use the Skype application to communicate over Skype.
It would be nice to simply use the applications that are provided with the OS instead of downloading more applications. Also, it would be nice to have multiple accounts such as '.mac', AIM, and Skype all in one convenient location.
True, but Skype is a very common application. Don't be afraid to add applications when you need them. Skype is its own network and thus has its own application.
Yes, but Skype's app looks terrible, I hate having multiple windows to manage and Skype's new interface completely blows. I'd rather just use iChat. Its cleaner.
