How do get current stock quotes to download into a numbers spreadsheet when I open it?

With my PC (in a prior life), I could build a Excel portfolio spreadsheet containing individual stock symbols and, using a program provided by Money, when the sheet was opened, current quotes for the entered stocks were updated and returned into appropriate row cells for that stock.

This allowed math to be performed (Price*number of shares owned, etc.) which kept me informed on my financial progress.

I have rebuilt the same spreadsheets in Numbers, but can find no way to interface with a quote service that will take the stock symbols on the sheet and bring the current price quote into the appropriate row entry cell. I now have to manually enter the current quotes.

Is anyone aware of a service source that is compatible with Apple Safari, Numbers and Mac OS 10.6.4 that will give me that capability?

I've never heard of a way to do this. If it is something special that Excel does, I would find out if Excel for Mac does it too (they are different) and then just get Office for Mac.

Quantrix software can import quotas data into a spreadsheet to calculate your portfolio' performance.

Quantrix is also available on Mac but I have not tried...

    I hope it can help
