I would like to know how I can open encrypted DMG files in a windows environment. I am thinking of a situation where I have a couple in private files in a DMG files sync’d to drop box.

After installing OSX Lion my QuickTime will not play the same codex it used too. I have re-installed DIVX and VLC. Now it says I must buy a codex (flip4mac) for $20. Sure glad I paid $30 for this experience.
Anyone have a fix?

I noticed on Apple’s site that the desk spaces all have different names like mail, pages etc. All get is desk top 1,2,3 etc. How can I name them myself?

Will Apple still be updating OSX 10.6.8?
A lot of effort seems to be placed on Lion at the moment, and I prefer to wait about a year before changing my 2007 Mini. I find Lion a bit similar to iOS, which I work on for 95% of my workflow (iPad).

Just wanted to let you and anyone else know that you can now cut and paste files in Lion.
The keyboard shortcut for this is: Cmd+Option+V.
Select a file. Press Cmd+C (to copy).
Choose a location where you wish to move the file to.

I can’t seem to get the resume function to work.
For example, I opened iPhoto and selected a particular photo and then clicked on edit. I then closed iPhoto.
When I restarted iPhoto, it did not show exactly where I left off.

I noticed that Typing XLS in the Finder Window spotlight shows me around 670 els files but when i click ALL MY FILES it shows me 470 files.
What is the difference between the two options ? does All My Files search fewer areas of the computer ?

I installed Lion on the day that it came out and ever since it has been eating disk space like something is running in the background. Have run OmiDiskSweeper and nothing out of the ordinary is showing on it. Could it be Time Machine back ups or something?

Gary In apple mail I have Set my Gmail email account as Imap.
In the folders on the left i see MAILBOXES and under it i se Inbox Sent and Trash… then lower down I see GMAIl and all my labels under Gmail that is on the website.

I read and saw people talking about that turning off the blue light indicator in the dock give us a better memory management for applications.
