Lots of ways to do it. You can select the video in iPhoto and Ctrl+click selecting "Show in Finder" -- then drag that file into iMovie. Once it is in iMovie, you can make your adjustments. Photos can be imported into the video using the photo browser on the right side of the iMovie interface. Then you can use video adjustments to lighten them up.
The movies imported from my camera (Sony) in to iphoto have an .mpg extension. iMovie message that I get when I try to import is that the file is not compatible.
See episode 362: http://macmost.com/importing-incompatible-video-into-imovie.html
thanks so much
hi gary i could not do it when i drag the video inti i movie it is not copied pls elaborate
Make sure you drag it into the right section (on to an event library)
it says it the file cannot be imported in i movies it is not compatable with it
Ah, then your camera must use an incompatible format. Convert it using QuickTime X, MPEGStreamclip, FFMpegX or VLC. Or, see if your camera came with (or has on the Web site) a QuickTime plug-in to give your Mac the ability to use that format. Check your camera's Web site support section for Mac support info.
it was not my camera but my sis she lives in another town!!!
I understand that in order to edit movies downloaded to iphoto from my camera, I have to import them into imovie as events and work on projects. But, once I have the project the way I want it, how do i get it back to iphoto so I have the still photos and movies in the same place?
When you move the clips into iMovie, you are not removing them from iPhoto. They are still there. When you finish your project, you can take the finished video and export it to a file, then drag and drop it back into iPhoto if you like.
