It seems there are reports of this, yes. I, myself, have had no issues with Safari 5 on several different Macs.
Some things to try: clear cache, cookies, addresses, etc (Safari menu, Reset Safari will do a lot of that). Delete the Safari preferences (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist). Remove any and all browser add-ons as some may not yet be compatible with Safari 5. Turn your DSL/Cable modem off and on to reset it. Make sure you DSL/Cable modem doesn't need a firmware update (Safari 5 may be using new things that out-of-date modems don't handle).
Let me know if any of these work for you, as I am curious.
hi gary i completed all of the above and its still crashes i found this sit where it always closes down it sportinglife.com i found another user that used this site experienced the same problem would you say it more of a compatability issue with some sites?
I went to that site and it worked fine in Safari 5 for me. There is a lot of Flash on that page. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash, maybe?
Hi Gary. Along similar line, since I upgraded to Safari 5 a few days ago, my accessibility has gotten markedly slower and at least half the time I get a "blank screen" telling me I am not connected to internet. This can be a bit puzzling as I might commonly have another page open to an internet site that is working fine while I am looking up some other info. Any ideas. Anyone else reporting this. Yes, I have reset my modem / router. I am on OS 10.6.8
