Was wondering if you have a recommendation for setting up a wifi access point while traveling. Example: visiting relatives who have a cable internet connection but no wifi. Would like to take something with me, set up the temp wifi connection for a iPhone, mbp, etc. Then when I leave, disconnect and leave everything as it was when I arrived. Thanks in advance.

Seems like you already have a plan.
I've done exactly that in the same situation before. I've even done it while stay at a hotel that had a wired connection, not a wifi one.
Just get yourself a cheap portable wifi router. I used the Cisco-Linksys WTR54GS Wireless G Travel Router, for instance.
Thank you! Would the TRENDnet 150 Mbps Wireless N Access Point TEW-650AP work and still provide the host computer and wired internet connection? Seems it only has one Cat5 connection...
I've never used it, but if it has no other connection then it seems that would be a deal-breaker for you.
Hmmmmm....thx...could you also do this with an Apple AirPort Express Base Station?? thx
You could establish the wifi network, but there is no way to then keep that one wired computer hooked up.
