Are recent imacs on the market able to handle mini dvds or can they only handle regular sized dvds? I am thinking that if you put in a mini dvd into the imac it will jam the cd/dvd player, but if I am wrong please tell me. Thanks a lot.

No. Those smaller DVDs, and the CDs that are that small size too, won't work with any computer that has a slot-loading optical drive. Same for a PC with a slot-loading drive. The only Mac with a tray is a Mac Pro, but you can get an external tray-loading drive if you really wanted to.
