For instance, if it have a MacBook with a mini DisplayPort out, and a TV with a RGB input, then you'll need a series of cables and adapters to go from one to the other. You can Go mini DisplayPort to DVI, then DVI to RGB. Or, perhaps you have a VGA port on your TV. Then the mini DisplayPort to VGA would do it, plus probably an extension so it will reach.
