How Do I Instantly Dismiss Notifications From Keyboard or Even With a Mouse?

How do we quickly dismiss notifications that pop up with reminders, new email, texts or other. So of them there is no “dismiss” place to click and the options are click and go to the file and it’s app or wait 30 seconds for it to go away. TIA.

Because i have a small MacBook Air high Sierra set to 1152×720 and the notifications block part of my screen I am reading.

You can always dismiss them by dragging them to the right. But if you just want them to not appear at all, you can go to System Preferences, Notifications and turn some of them off.

There's no built-in way to dismiss notifications, but you can build one. See https://macmost.com/dismiss-notifications-with-a-keyboard-shortcut-using-automator.html

Thank you for the very prompt reply. I will try dragging the next notifiation I get, and when I am more awake will try your idea in Automator.
    Thank you again!
