In Music, How Do I Move a Song From One Album To Another?

I want to move a song from one album to a different album.

I had a CD which I ripped to iTunes many computers ago, but in Music one of the tracks seems to have migrated to its own album with the same name. So I have two albums with the same name, but one album just has one song, the other has 14 songs. The album isn’t available on Apple Music, and I don’t have a physical copy any more (or a CD drive).

To do this, you need to edit the song's information and change which album it thinks it is a part of. You probably should also check the artist and other information while you are doing so. Make sure you get the album name exactly as the other songs have it.

See https://macmost.com/correcting-artist-album-and-song-info-in-the-mac-music-app.html for how to do this.

Also note you can select multiple songs and edit all of their information at once.

That was the perfect solution, thanks.

The issue was that one track had the artist name, but the others didn't so I just had to select all of them and then check the 'Compilation' check box.

This is all now showing correctly in Apple Music on my Mac - do you have any idea how long it should take to migrate to my iPhone?

So you are using Apple Music to sync? It should show up in a few minutes.

Thanks. Yes, Apple Music. It took about 90 minutes, but got there in the end.

Thanks again for your great help.
