I’m just not satisfied with built in alerts and tones for Facetime and Messages on Mac. I learned how to change the system alerts but still can’t figure out how to do Facetime and Messages.

You set that in FaceTime, Preferences. Then click on Ringtones. Now you can choose from a pretty big list of ringtones.
Thanks - I’m aware of these but looking a way to add custom sounds
Levi: That's tricky. Basically, you have to disable all sorts of systems protections to be able to do this since it is change the files in the system partition. For me, this doesn't meet the level of "need" to do this, so I avoid.
Ah, okay, that makes sense
