How Do I Divide Long Movies Into Shorter Parts?

Is there any way to easily take a long video and export it into several short videos?

The video is 1 1/2 hours long but covers several subjects that I prefer to make into separate videos. I know I can import and delete parts. import again and delete some, etc. Is there any easier way?

I would do that in QuickTime Player, not iMovie. Use the Trim function.

Open the movie in QuickTime Player. Edit, Trim. Trim to the portion you want. Then save and it will prompt you to save as a new file. It should be exporting the original video, but only that section, not re-compressing the video.

Then close the document and reopen the original if you want to export another section.

    Excellent tip. Thanks.
