How Do I Prevent Duplication Of Images In Pictures Folder and Inside Photos App?

I want to ask about the logic of Photos application.

When I import any image/video into this app from Pictures folder, do I have to delete or do you recommend me to delete same files under the Pictures folder to prevent blowing up of the mac harddisk because of the duplication?

(Actually, the issue is the same with iTunes app with regard to the songs- not purchased from Apple Store)

I'm not sure what you mean here by "from Pictures folder." Where are the photos you are importing? On an iPhone? A camera? Where do they come from? If they are in the Pictures folder, how did they get there -- did you move them there from some other source?
Usually, you would connect your camera or phone to your Mac, then import directly into Photos. It will not import duplicates. Or, you can use iCloud Photo Library with your Mac and iPhone and it is a non-issue.
As for iTunes, if you are importing songs into iTunes and have duplicates, it is best to figure that out before brining them into iTunes. But there are functions in the menu under File, Library to help you identify duplicates you may have imported.

I'm mac user since 2007 and I owned thousands of image/video files before that. After I moved to Mac I imported all images under Pictures folder and also other images taken or acquired since then. From time to time I carried some of them to the external hdd except the very last of them, depending on my needs.
So I'm asking about the logic of the Photos app- when this app imports the images (Photos > Preferences...), does it mean they are duplicated on my Mac? If so I have delete excludings....

... If so I have TO delete excludings…. (my intention to delete the images in Pictures folder that have been imported to the Photos app)
    Sorry for this insertion...

I see, so you have photos stored as files in your Pictures folder. Yes, when you import them into your Photos app library they will be stored inside that library as well.
Here's what I would do. I would take all of the files you have and import them into Photos. Then I would archive them to an external drive somewhere and clear them off of your main drive. That way you only have one copy of them on your main drive, inside your Photos Library. You also have a backup of those original files stored safely somewhere.
