I want to move some emails from the trash to the in mailbox. I have an iMac, started with Yosemite, but don’t know if something else has been added. It was purchased in April 2014. I don’t know how to look up the running system.

In the Mail app? Just look in your Trash. Then select the email you want and you can drag and drop it into the Inbox on the left. You can also use the menu item Message, Move To, Inbox.
Can I move more than one email at a time?
I don't understand "use the menu item Message, Move To, Inbox
Cheri: select the message in your list of messages, or just have it be the one you are viewing. Then choose the Message menu from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Then select Move in that menu, and Inbox from the submenu.
If you want to do multiples, use the Shift or Command keys to select more than one item from your message list.
