I do't use an Android phone, so I may not know the best answer. But since Android uses a Google operating system, I'd imagine the best way is to use Google Photos with your Google account. Adding photos to Google Photos on your Mac, and then they should show up on Google Photos on your phone.

There are two apps I use to pass images between my iOS and Mac devices and android phones. Share it, and PhotoSync. Both work fine.
