Gary i just downloaded an App on my Imac front he same itunes account that I am signed into on my iphone.
Im on wifi now and I was expecting the iphone to automatically have the App. but it hasn’t come in.
It’s been over 15 minutes.
I recall a few days earlier apps and music were getting automatically synced !

Are you using version 10.3.1 of iTunes?
Did you enable automatic downloads in the preferences?
Are you using the very latest version of iOS on your iPhone? (iOS 4.3.3)
I think this is only available now in the U.S. as well.
And also remember, it is a test. They are just testing these features. So it may take a while for them to work out some issues.
Yes everything is updated. iTunes and iOS!
I bought another app from the imac and this time it appeared on my iPhone ! Later I bought 2 apps on my iPhone but they are not seen in iTunes on the iMac !
Preferences are fine.
