No, right now now there is no functionality like this. When you delete a conversation, it is deleted on that device only. Messages aren't yet "in the cloud" so you are just seeing an archive of messages you have received. The messages aren't linked to each other across devices.
Apple was hoping to include a new feature in iOS 11 and High Sierra that put messages into iCloud. This could potentially get the functionality that you want. But it was not ready for the iOS 11 and High Sierra releases, so we haven't seen it yet. Hopefully we'll get that soon.
Thank you, Garry. I use four Apple devices, and it's a pain in the neck to have to remove the same messages four times! I'm sure it happens to most of Apple users. Hope the feature comes soon.
Juan: I think most people don't bother. Or, they leave them there for future reference.
