How to Import fonts into Font Book

I have been tring to import fonts into the Font Book of a G5 but for some reason they’re not showing up. I know they are being copied because they show up in fonts folders in the HD but i can not view them through the Font Book. Also, when i click them in the HD, Font Book loads up but the selected font does not show up to preview. When i transfer fonts, the Font Book loads but the total # of fonts does not change.

It is as simple as what you are already trying. So perhaps something is wrong with the fonts? Are you getting these from one source -- perhaps old style fonts of some kind? Are any of them successful? It sounds like there is a compatibility issue.
Another thing to check is to make sure you are doing this with an admin account. But probably, yes.

I am using the administrator account and they are coming from multiple sources. I would understand if some had trouble transferring but it appears so for ALL my fonts. I work in a Mac lab and i have been importing fonts to other macs just fine. Its just a select few that are giving me this issue.

I had the same problem and just figured it out. I went to my font folder and saw the fonts there. I doubled clicked on the fonts and it brought up an Ïnstall¨button. I clicked on that and it finally installed. Not sure why the normal Font Book process wouldn´t take it. But, at least there was a workaround.
