How Do I Update Apps On My iPhone SE?

I often forget to update my iPhone SE apps, then when I do, 60 or more need to be updated. I used to open the Apps application and there would be a list of all that needed updating. I am using iOS 13.3 now, and can’t find an “update all” option. But when I try to use a seldom used app, it tells me I need to update it first. I’d like to update all when I have down time, but can’t seem to find where to do that. Can you help? Thanks in advance.

Go to Settings, iTune & App Stores, and look under Automatic Downloads for the setting "App Updates." This is different than the "Apps" setting. With "App Updates" turned on, it should keep all of your apps up-to-date automatically and you never have to worry about it. It will often happen at night when you aren't using your iPhone for anything else too. And on Wi-Fi.

If you don't have a Wi-Fi connection then be sure to look at the Cellular Data options right there too, as you'll need to update over your mobile connection and those settings try to protect you from large downloads.

To update manually, you would go to the App Store app, then tap on your icon at the top right corner to enter your Account screen. There you should see which apps need updates and which have recently gotten updates. There should be an Update All button there too. I don't see it, of course, since I have "App Updates" turned on. But you can also look here for a list of recent updates, which is handy if you want to see the description of what has changed.

Thanks, Gary! I turned on auto update now.
(But manually, I have 115 to go 😄)
