I think what you are looking for is setting up different users. That would allow you to store different documents, settings, etc. But it might be overkill. You will probably want to share most of your documents, right?
So what, exactly, do you want to be different between these modes?
In Windows with different profile your can setup different settings for printers, scanners, etc. Making some resources available, while others unavailable. eg. If I was at work, my default printer would be printer1 while, when I am home, it would be printer2.
I believe "Windows profiles" and "Mac Users" are pretty much the same thing. But I'm really not familiar with Windows profiles, so I can't say for sure.
Just for network settings, you can set up "Locations" which you can switch to easily. Once you switched a location your Mac should automatically figure out which printers and scanners are available.
That's what I am looking for "Locations" - How do I switch locations? Thanks.
Look in the System Preferences, Network. Check out this episode: http://macmost.com/using-network-locations.html
Thanks,
That's exactly what I was looking for....
One more question.....
Can I setup printers in locations to reflect where I am ?
I've never come across that. But if you change locations and a printer is not available, then you simply wouldn't be able to select that printer.
