Watching HDTV on 27 iMac

I am considering buying the iMac 2.66GHz Quad-Core i5, I have a Motorola 6416 DVR from my cable provider. Is it possible to connect the two and watch the HD channels on the iMac

    Theoretically, yes. But I can't heard of it being done. You should be able to get adapters (several, perhaps) to convert from HDMI or Component video to Mini DisplayPort for the iMac screen. You'd have to restart in "target screen mode." But I hear the adapters out today aren't robust enough to do this.
