How to enter a date using period or dot (.) as the separator; and using yyyy.mm.dd as the entry format? My system preferences short date format is set up as yyyy.mm.dd. Numbers will recognize “-” and “/”. I do not care to use those for data entry.

About fading in a single clip from black – the Settings allows for that but it is a very quick fade in. How can I extend the duration of the fade-in-from-black to maybe one or even two seconds, gently, not abruptly?

I’m trying to decide whether to use File Vault or not. If I choose to use my iCloud Account to retrieve a lost password, but not have wifi, am I just stuck. Wouldn’t it be safer to generate a recovery password that isn’t online?
